Abstract

Various diseases are correlated with the nervous system. These diseases are called Neurodegenerative Diseases (NDs) such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Huntington’s disease (HD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), Epilepsy, Schizophrenia, and Depression. NDs can be cured by using various medicinal plants that have certain active chemical compounds that are effective against neurodegenerative diseases. In this study, forty plants are overviewed which are used to extract bio-chemicals for treating neurodegenerative diseases in Pakistan as well as in other countries of the world. Whole plants or parts of plants from roots to seeds are given directly to patients with neurodegenerative diseases or bio-chemicals are extracted from these plants and used for the cure of these diseases.
